Why Energy Work Can Quiet a Busy Mind & an Overloaded System
Most people assume sleep is just about getting your brain to shut up at night. If that were true, melatonin gummies wouldn’t be the modern-day bedtime treat, and entire wellness aisles wouldn’t be dedicated to “fixing your sleep”.
Sleep is not just rest but it allows for deeper integration. It allows your body, your emotions, and your energy finally get a chance to catch up to you. And if you’re sensitive, intuitive, stressed, over-functioning, or sitting in your own spiritual awakening (aka “congratulations, everything is changing and your nervous system is losing its mind”) then sleep can become messy.
In short, yes, Reiki can help with your sleep, but not because it’s a mystical sedative that knocks you out on command. It rebalances, clears, and supports what your body is trying to do anyway so sleep stops feeling like a fight.

The 5-Minute Pre-Sleep Reiki Routine
Lie down. Place one hand over your chest, one over your abdomen.
Breathe slowly and imagine:
your body dropping deeper into the bed
your field softening around you
any energy that isn’t yours dissolving
your system grounding into the earth
your breath drawing calm into the body
You don’t need to visualize perfectly.
Just intend it.
The body knows what to do with intention.
